Dorney Park Cares In The Community
The Dorney Park Cares initiative is a community-driven program focused on promoting environmental sustainability, inclusivity, and local support. In 2024, the initiative expanded its efforts to enhance park operations and community engagement. Dorney Park implemented new recycling and composting programs, reducing waste and encouraging eco-friendly practices among guests. Additionally, they organized events that brought together local nonprofits and schools, fostering partnerships that benefit the surrounding community.
In 2024, Dorney Park Cares prominently featured events like "Ride for a Cause," which invited guests to enjoy rides while supporting the Eagles Autism Foundation. Additionally, the "Winter Chill Out" event brought cheer during the colder months, offering seasonal behind-the-scenes tours, raising funds for the Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. The “A Kid Again Adventure” also played a significant role, providing memorable experiences for children with life-threatening conditions and raising crucial funds. These initiatives not only engaged the community but also underscored Dorney Park's commitment to making a meaningful difference in the region.
We do this because we believe, along with strategic charitable and community partners, that together we can make a difference in the lives of children in need.
In 2024, Dorney Park Cares donated thousands of tickets, products, and funds to hundreds of organizations to use for fundraising activities or to give their clients and partners an incredible day at the park.
This season, with the help of DonationMatch we supported 1,461 events and organizations with 2,922 tickets and experiences donated for a total contribution of $204,540 to non-profits. These charities range from larger organizations to a wide variety of nonprofits serving our community.

Dorney Park's outreach and support initiatives focus on strengthening community connections and fostering inclusivity. The park actively partners with local organizations and schools to provide resources, host events, and promote charitable causes. Through programs like “Ride for a Cause” and seasonal events, Dorney Park raises funds for nonprofits and offers memorable experiences for families, particularly those facing challenges. This commitment to community well-being reflects the park’s dedication to making a positive impact in the region.
We are excited to announce that we will expand our outreach efforts with the help of Tickets for Kids in 2025. The charitable organization provides free access to low-income and at-risk kids in the Northeast region.
Dorney Park hosts a variety of charitable events throughout the year, aimed at supporting local nonprofits and fostering community spirit. Initiatives like “Ride for a Cause” allow guests to enjoy the park while contributing to meaningful causes, raising funds for organizations that serve families in need. Seasonal events, such as the “Winter Chill Out,” offer festive activities and entertainment while generating donations for local charities. Through these efforts, Dorney Park not only provides fun experiences but also demonstrates its commitment to giving back and uplifting the community.
In May, as it has for several years, Dorney Park Cares utilized volunteers from our full-time team to help with the landscaping, carpentry, painting and more at Camelot for Children; a nonprofit that provides year-round social and educational opportunities to children with disabilities and chronic or terminal illnesses.
Also in April, Dorney Park partnered with WFMZ and Giant to host the annual Food Truck Food Drive, collecting enough donations to secure thousands of meals for Second Harvest Food Bank. The event was held in our public parking lot.
2025 will be a spectacular year of giving back to the community. This year, Dorney Park Cares will focus on these five giving priorities:
- Children/Families in Need (Children with disabilities, life-threatening illnesses, and socioeconomically impacted)
- Lehigh Valley, New York City, and Greater Philadelphia Region (Organizations that serve our communities)
- Students/Education (Supporting our next generation of leaders)
- Environment (Causes that support the environment and Lehigh River Valley)
- Causes our Associates Believe In
