Women Lead at Dorney Park

Women lead at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom. That is why we are pleased to celebrate and highlight the incredible work of three of our best during National Women’s History Month.
Throughout the park, you’ll find incredible leaders and members of our team including Christina Lamson, Dawn Reidenbach, and Kylie Stumph all of whom contribute to the fun and professional atmosphere that makes Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom a fun place to work and play.
Christina Lamson can often be found in Wildwater Kingdom; as the aquatics manager, she takes pride in the park and has spent twelve years working hard to improve facilities, rides, and the customer experience.
“I love it here,” said Christina. “There is something new every day.”
Christina is originally from Ohio but after moving around and tackling new challenges she landed at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom.
“I never thought I would call this place home, but I can’t imagine being anywhere else,” Christina added.
Christina says there are tremendous opportunities for women at the park.
“There are a lot of opportunities. I know for me personally I’ve learned a lot,” Lamson said. “Being here is fulfilling and every year I find myself growing professionally and personally.”
During a recent conversation, Christina talked about what Women’s History Month means to her.
“It makes me think of all the women who have come before me that have fought, protested, and worked for the rights that I have today,” said Christina. “I also think that we still have things to work on that will continue to make things better for girls and women long after I am gone. I also celebrate all strong women who have helped me be the person I am today.”
Dawn Reidenbach is also a big fan of Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom and as Director of Human Resources takes great pride in the quality associates and team members that make the guest experience second to none.
“There are many reasons why I love working at Dorney Park but foremost is the people. This is one of the most collaborative, supportive, and fun teams I have been a part of,” Dawn said. “We have four generations working at Dorney Park plus a Work and Travel Program comprised of students from over ten different countries. People genuinely care about each other personally and work together as a team. Our diverse workforce is supportive of different thoughts and opinions, but everyone is aligned in making Dorney Park a memorable experience for our guests, seasonal associates, and one another.”
Dawn has been a member of the team for five years and has spent over three decades in the amusement park industry. Like Christina, Dawn says she continues to learn and grow.
“I have learned that I can do anything but not everything,” said Dawn. “I value the power of diverse teams because they get things done more efficiently. I am motivated to do my best when I am contributing to a common goal with others.”
During a recent conversation, Dawn also talked about what Women’s History Month means to her.
“It is a reminder to celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of women throughout time and how they have supported and impacted our society,” said Dawn. “I love that we bring awareness to the past and current inequalities, growth, and celebrations that women have endured and overcome.”
Kylie Stumph is the Area Manager of Rides at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom and joined the team in January of 2020. Prior to taking the position at Dorney, Kylie worked at Valleyfair, a sister park in the Cedar Fair family.
Prior to committing to the challenge at Dorney Park, Kylie says she was encouraged by friends and family, feeling a spark to try something new.
“I love the people I work with!” said Kylie. “Working with my friends and helping others grow in the industry and as people, makes it worth coming to work.”
Kylie says that working at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom has helped her break out of her shell.
“When I first started in the company, I was very reserved,” Kylie said. “Working in this industry has not only helped me professionally but personally. I learned how to be more outgoing and now if you see me, I will be the one dancing in the middle of the midway. I learned it’s okay to be yourself and to love what you do.”
Kylie believes that Dorney Park provides women with a positive place to work and grow.
“When I first started most management was predominantly male but they were my role models to work my way up in the company,” said Kylie. “Today when you look around you see many strong female leaders who are making a difference in the industry.”
