History Made at Dorney Park: Iron Menace Completes First Successful Test Run

In between some periods of rain and wind, a menace took flight. On Wednesday evening at approximately 4:24 p.m. Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom made history as the Northeast’s first dive roller coaster Iron Menace completed its first successful test run.
The historic moment was caught on cameras staged throughout the park and in the sky. As a result, crews could be seen on video monitoring the train’s slow and calculated first ascent, before it plummeted 95-degrees from 160 feet.
Dorney Park’s team could also be seen scattered along the midway breathlessly recording video for the Public Relations team as the ride zipped through its four jaw-dropping inversions.
Park leaders say it was special to watch the ride crews have spent eight months constructing sail around the track for the very first time.
The park is scheduled to open to the public on May 10, 2024 but has hinted that some dynamic ride-related events could happen during the month of April.
Park leaders say that crews will continue to work on ride theming around the Iron Menace, which includes a new restaurant and gift shop.
