Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom Participates in World’s Largest Swim Lesson

June 22, 2023, was a special day for the team at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom. Despite the seasonally cool temperatures, lifeguards and water park operators helped a dozen children into the Wave Pool for what has become an annual tradition.
The World’s Largest Swim Lesson is a promotional event that is designed with awareness in mind and for the second year Dorney Park’s team helped turn some heads. Children were seen working with lifeguards on a variety of water safety techniques and swimming basics that will help them navigate their summer fun.
One hundred children were registered for the Thursday event which brings aquatic facilities, water parks, and community pools together on the same day under the same umbrella mission.
According to the World Waterpark Association, drowning is one of the leading causes of unintended, injury-related death for U.S. children ages 1-4. Which is why waterparks like Wildwater Kingdom have decided to team up and have been doing so for over a decade.
Dorney Park would like to thank WFMZ-TV, The Morning Call, and PBS 39 for covering the event and talking about the importance of water safety.
