Animals Seek Fun, New Homes During Visit To Dorney Park

Dorney Park opened the gates for some furry friends during our annual pet adoption photoshoot.
They ruled the park, and that’s why we became Dorney Bark and Wildwagger Kingdom for the third time.
Each year we partner with area animal rescue organizations to showcase some of their adoptable pets. Last year we were excited to work with The Sanctuary at Haafsville so much that we brought them back!
It was a fun day at the “office” with a bunch of furry friends running around. We had the pup-arazzi take pictures of our guests for the day. All of these animals who visited the park are up for adoption, but there are so many others at the sanctuary who are waiting for the purr-fect family to take them home.
Rowan
Rowan is a special boy who was brought to the shelter after spending time at an overcrowded facility. Rowan has three legs but has energy and mobility for days. He is a hound and pit bull mix and is about 5 years old. The handsome boy loves to cuddle, is a great hugger and will jump up for hugs. He is also a pro at sit and will eagerly show off his talents to you for a treat of course! A home without a lot of steps for him to do would be best. He is ok with cats and if there are other dogs in the home a meet and greet will need to be arranged.
Sparky
This spunky little guy is a handsome and fun-loving Boston Terrier. Sparky is about 4-5 years old. He's super friendly and will bark for your attention when he feels you need to give him more. He loves to give kisses and sometimes cannot control his tongue! Absolutely no cats for this dude and if there is another dog in the house, a meet and greet will need to be arranged.
Nova
Nova is an adorable pup that just needs a new friend for walkies and fun! Information is limited on Nova but volunteers at the shelter would be happy to fill you in!
Winnie
Winnie was a very sweet stray cat who joined the Sanctuary after they were contacted by a local emergency clinic. She is paralyzed in her hindlegs. She is currently doing daily physical therapy with a Cat Care Manager who says that Winnie is starting to show progress! The shelter is also working with a local university to build her a custom cart. Winnie has a wonderful personality and doesn’t know that she has any obstacles to overcome. She loves attention, especially getting scratches behind her ears!
*Winnie is 1 year old.
Ween
Ween is currently the longest resident at the Sanctuary. She is an incredible cat who loves attention. She is also extremely playful and curious. Ween is an expert at catching the wand toy! Ween is also a resident foodie. The moment a bag of treats are opened, Ween is at your feet!
*Ween is 5 years old.

About The Sanctuary at Haafsville
The Sanctuary at Haafsville is a no-kill shelter for kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs located at 901 Nestle Way, Breinigsville, PA 18031. They use the term “Sanctuary” because the concept means to them as providing a nurturing environment for animals in need. Their shelter houses most of their animals, meanwhile the others reside in foster homes. That helps them learn about the animal’s behavior and find a correct owner to animal match. They are a volunteer-based organization and are funded by fundraising efforts, donations, and partnerships. If you would like to donate you can drop off things like cat or dog food, towels, and blankets. You can also make a monetary donation online, which helps the animals get the shots or vaccinations they need. In their first 11 years The Sanctuary at Haafsville have saved over 10,000 animals and placed them in loving homes! You can help grow that number by adopting a cat or dog of your own. More information about the shelter as well as the animals who are available for adoption can be found on The Sanctuary at Haafsville Facebook page, Instagram, and website.
