5 Instagrammable Spots at Grand Carnivale

1. Grand Carnivale Fence
If you want a picture without a busy background, the blue Grand Carnivale fence is the best place. This is a great wall for a group photo or some solo shots. There are some festive potted plants on either side of the fence. The color of the fence will definitely make your Instagram feed pop! It’s such an elegant blue, you could almost say it’s royal blue. The fence is located next to Good Time Theatre. Once you find it, then you’ll know where the Spectacle of Color Parade begins, starting at 6:30PM.
2. Picture with King and Queen of Grand Carnivale
The Grand Carnivale festival is led by King Carl Nivale and Queen Cara Nivale, so getting a picture with them is extra special. The King and Queen kick off the celebration with performances from their royal court. After they watch their talented court finish up their dazzling performances, they will walk around for a little. This is when you might be able to get a photo with them. They are busy watching over the festival and making sure everyone is having FUN, so ask them nicely for a picture. Keep in mind you are in the presence of royalty.
3. Picture with a member of the Royal Court
The Royal Court is excited to entertain you with all the amazing performances they have lined up, including a parade. While they aren’t performing on stage, they are kicking it up, up, up with you on the Midway. Take this chance to get an exclusive up-close picture with a member or multiple members of the court. After you snap a picture, dance along with them!
4. A flavor of the festival
The food at Grand Carnivale is sweet, savory, and photogenic. Spice up your feed with one (or many) of the authentic tastes. This is especially great if you have a foodie Instagram. There are couple different ways you can line up this picture. One way is with you enjoying and eating the food, there are tables and benches all around the Midway to help with this shot. Another way is to get the country in the background, like the picture shown here. But here’s a tip with that type of shot: don’t tip the plate too much, because some of the food may slide off the plate. I may or may not have discovered this through personal experience.
5. At one of the beautiful setups for the country
Each country represented at our festival has an aesthetic set up in which you can see things that are synonymous with their country. It makes for a marvelous picture. It’s like you traveled to that country without leaving Allentown. Bonus if you get a picture at all 6 of the countries. Take a look at the map so, you can navigate your way to each country. Then you can make it a carousel post and show the world traveler that you are. Extra bonus if you do Mardi’s International QR Invitational while you go around to take pictures, which you can read about in the “Play Lively Games” section of a previous blog.
