Online Food Drive: Help Us Stop Hunger

Let our powers combine we are… ok, maybe a show forgotten, and definitely wrong decade – but hey…  same concept: strength in numbers.

Our 4th Annual Food Truck Food Drive with WFMZ, benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and North Eastern Pennsylvania has been canceled, unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately, it's the 21st Century, and the fundraiser has moved online!

Each year, Second Harvest distributes approximately 7,165,932 meals to people struggling with hunger in our local community. Yes, that’s millions. With the pandemic, Second Harvest says their need is exceptionally high, and they anticipate it will only grow as more people are out of work and/or without a paycheck.

Currently, Second Harvest is unable to accept food donations due to COVID-19. They desperately need monetary donations in order to buy food from their suppliers and distribute to those in need.

Many of us are trying to figure out how to help from the comfort and safety of our own homes. I know I've found myself countless times saying, “What can I do?!” We can’t get out and volunteer our time or maybe we don’t have the skills to sew face masks for our family and friends. But maybe, just maybe, we have one dollar we can spare to help our community.

Every dollar counts, seriously! For every $1 donated, 6 meals can be distributed by Second Harvest.

If you are able, donate what you can, even if it's just $1. We know times are tough, and the landscape is uncertain, so if you are unable, please help us build awareness by sharing this fundraiser.

Dorney Park & WFMZ are making corporate donations, and we hope you'll join us. Together, we’re matching dollar for dollar up to $3,000.

Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and NEPA services the following counties:
Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, Pike & Wayne

In the area served by Second Harvest:

  • 1 in 10 people struggle with hunger; and
  • 1 in 6 children struggle with hunger

Stay home, stay safe, stop hunger.

We can’t wait to see you on the mid-ways.
