Break out the beads- the floats for #DPGrandCarnivale are READY to hit the midways. The intricate details and embellishments are astonishing for onlookers across all generations.
Did you know some of these floats traveled up from New Orleans, Louisiana (you must be feeling some Mardi Gras vibes?) while others were carefully crafted in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Nine floats total will make up the Spectacle of Color Parade and travel alongside nearly 100 fine-tuned performers. Have I mentioned #ItsAmazingInHere?!
Here’s a little inside look on our 2019 Grand Carnivale parade floats:
One of our teams personal favorites is the float representing India. The pictures don’t do it justice AT ALL. This elephant float representing India is completely made out of DRUMS and stands at a massive 13.5 ft tall! So many drumsticks, so little time (Grand Carnivale ends August 11!).
So, I mentioned elaborate… Here’s our float representing China – take a look at the cherry blossom tree. Each flower is an LED light that will glow as twilight hits – how lit is that (see what I did there)!?
Cheers to the Germany float! This incredible glittery beer stein sits aboard the Germany Oktoberfest float with my main man Hans. Beer and glitter put together? Umm… Yes, please. Do we need more glitter?
It’s all in the details. How awesome is it to see all the work put into these different floats? Each one tells a story, and has interactive elements for both the performers and the guests.
Here we have the leader of the pack - the King of Carnivale's float featuring a trampoline for some high-flying acrobatics!
We don’t want to spoil anything else, quite yet so, remember, our Walk in The Park blog and social media channels are the first place to look for any breaking news regarding Grand Carnivale, or any other of our exciting happenings going on at the park.
Oh, and P.S. Grand Carnivale is included with park admission, so make sure to get your Season Pass or ticket, and get ready for an #amazing journey across the world at Dorney Park!
