Wildwater Kingdom Aquatics Team is ready to keep you safe this summer

Wildwater Kingdom opens to everyone on Saturday, May 25, 2024 and there’s plenty of excitement in the air.

This year the water park will feature two new live shows; Three Lil Birds and Steelpan Jam will bring sweet island tunes to the heart of the fun.

The park also boasts plenty of thrills for the little ones with lazy rivers, Seaside Splashworks, Wildwater Cove and more.

To ensure there’s lots of fun and that guests are safe, Dorney’s Aquatics Team has worked hard over several months to train and prepare.

Not only could they be seen in the Wave Pool training and learning during our Passholder Preview event on May 19th, they’ve also prepared tips for guests to stay safe near and in the water whether they’re at Wildwater Kingdom, a backyard or community pool, or the beach.

Prepare for the unknowns

  • Research the area and factors that could impact your time in the water like depth or visibility.
  • If you or someone else is in trouble, get the attention of a lifeguard or another person in/near the water (or call 9-1-1)
  • Conserve energy if you feel that water is overtaking you

Practice Water Safety

  • Learn to swim or use a life jacket
  • If you’re concerned about your ability to stay safe, make sure you are near a life guard
  • Wear brightly colored swimwear to help increase visibility (avoid blues and greens)
  • Make sure you have a buddy with or near you, two sets of eyes are always better than one
  • Follow all rules, whether it’s an electronic device policy or rules against running or jumping, it’s always best to play it safe.
  • Adults should watch children at all times, but remind kids to look for a lifeguard for help if they lose track of their family.
  • Avoid inflatable swimming aids such as "floaties" or "water wings."
  • Don't dive into shallow pools. Instead, jump in feet-first.
  • Don't jump or push others into the water.

Be aware of conditions

  • Inclement weather – beaches will often set out warning flags
  • Listen to lifeguards and respond appropriately should they ask you to adjust your activities
  • On hot and sunny days, hydrate and use suntan lotion to protect your skin and your health

Look Before You Slide

  • Wildwater Kingdom is full of fun attractions for all ages and swim abilities. It's important to understand exactly what kind activity you’re getting into.
  • Watch a ride before getting on. Pay attention to its entry and exit points, twists and turns, or any other aspect that could bring difficulty to a rider.
  • Take the time to read the ride's safety signage.

Remember that Wildwater Kingdom is supposed to be fun, but to have fun you first have to stay safe. See you in the water!
