Electrician

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom has an immediate opening for the position of Electrician in Allentown, PA. This full-time position will report to the Foreperson, Electrical Maintenance.

JOB SUMMARY: Under occasional supervision, install, inspect, maintain and perform electrical repairs of park rides and other electrical installations in park buildings and on park grounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to diagnose electrical equipment and make necessary repairs.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and schematics in troubleshooting electrical equipment.
  • Ability to interpret the National Electrical Code and apply safe work installations.
  • Ability to perform some electrical construction when necessary.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists ride and safety personnel as needed with electrical issues on rides and other equipment during ride evacuations.
  • Responds to daily calls, troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs malfunctioning equipment.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner.
  • Keep the Electrical Foreman up-to-date on the status of any incomplete jobs.
  • Responsible to the Electrical Foreman in completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.

Ride Mechanic

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom has an immediate opening for the position of Mechanic in Allentown, PA. This full-time position will report to the Assistant Foreperson of Rides Maintenance.

JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain proper ride operation, perform ride rehab and inspections. Perform various jobs as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Provide own hand tools and knowledge of how to use them.
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical experience.
  • Ability to obtain PA Ride Inspector certification Level II
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

Group Sales Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: 
This position assists the sales staff and Sales Director in administrative and operation functions related to coordinating sales events and support of sales team. Coordinate the day to day operation of the Sales Department through effective communication among Account Executives, clients and operational departments. Participates in the training and development of co-workers. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree (4 year College or University) 
  • 1 - 2 Years Related Experience in the theme park, hospitality, entertainment or travel industry. 
  • At Least 21 Years of Age 
  • Strong clerical/administrative experience with an emphasis on customer service. 
  • Advanced verbal and written professional communication skills with acute attention to spelling, punctuation and grammar. 
  • Strong time and project management skills and experience. 
  • Excellent organization skills. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of/experience with event planning and coordination preferred.

JOB SUMMARY: 
Plans, develops, implements and administers Dorney Park's Human Resources function. Ensures day-to-day operations are performed successfully. Communicates to full-time, part-time and seasonal associates and ensures compliance with all federal and state employment laws as well as with company policies and procedures. Achieve financial goals by effective management of staffing and labor controls. Performs related supervisory and professional work as required. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (4 year College University) in Human Resources management or related field. 
  • 5 - 7 Years Related Experience in Human Resources, the theme park, hospitality, entertainment or travel industry, or a combination of both. 
  • At Least 21 Years of Age 
  • Demonstrated familiarity with federal, state and local labor laws, including EEO, medical and religious accommodations, FMLA and minor labor laws 
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills, as well as, superior spelling, punctuation, and grammar

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage all aspects of the Human Resources employment administration process to include, but not limited to, applicant tracking, paperwork processing, document/record retention, benefits administration and payroll. Ensures adequate and friendly service is provided to all who visit Associate Services locations. 
  • Manages all seasonal recruitment and selection processes. Identifies and coordinates recruitment opportunities, including school visits, job fairs, advertising, direct mailings and online recruitment. Ensures each division has appropriate staffing levels during all phases of the park's operation. 
  • Communicates with associates at all levels of the Company and key external contacts including vendors, other business contacts, regulatory agencies and local, state or federal government offices. Utilizes various formats of communication including verbal, written and statistical data. 
  • Perform administrative responsibilities for HRIS systems, including payroll, ATS, TAS, scheduling, unemployment claims processing and on-boarding processes , including processing and report writing, as required 
  • Assists in all facets of recruitment, including pre-season and post-season college recruiting, supplemental staffing programs, and J-1 program. 
  • Assists in the development and implementation of operating budget for areas of responsibility. Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes expenditures to stay within budget. Make overall adjustments to meet departmental goals. 
  • Provide training and direction to line associates Coach and counsel associates to improve performance. Delegates work assignments and motivate staff to achieve optimum job performance through positive feedback and personal example. 
  • Work with associates and management to determine, document and implement reasonable job accommodations for sincerely held beliefs and for an employee's verified claim of disability. 
  • Act as an employee relations representative for concerns involving associate issues such as harassment and discrimination claims. Receive initial associate complaint reports, conduct investigations and recommend corrective actions. Accurately and thoroughly document investigations. Liaise with Dorney Park Security and law enforcement in any criminal matters. 
  • Serves as Human Resources Manager On-Duty as scheduled with responsibilities for conducting employment investigations, coaching managers and divisional leaders and reviewing requests for dismissal. 
  • Maintains updated job descriptions in compliance with federal, state and local laws and Cedar Fair policy. 
  • Reviews background check information for newly hired associates and renders employment decisions on the basis of such information. Ensures the process is in full compliance with Federal, State, and Local Laws. 
  • Oversees the seasonal orientation, training and staff development programs. 
  • Manages seasonal housing programs, and ensures compliance with related housing policies. Secures contracts with local housing providers. Acts as a liaison to those providers in order to foster a strong working relationship. 
  • Oversees the operation of Dorney Park's uniform program. Ensures accurate inventory reports, places orders for new items, manages physical inventory, and works with outside vendors for uniform laundering and repair.
