Electrical Controls Specialist

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom has an immediate opening for the position of Electrical Controls Specialist in Allentown, PA. This full-time position will report to the Manager, Electrical / Facility Maintenance.

JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, supervises and participates in the inspection, maintenance and repair of ride control systems to ensure efficient and safe operations at all times. Assists in the installation, modification, upgrading and repair of ride control systems used throughout the Park. Performs related technical and supervisory duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess extensive knowledge of PLC's, motor drives and display units.
  • Ability to use spreadsheet and database computer systems. AutoCAD training preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Driver's License ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other Park managers and staff, co-workers, subordinates, guests, vendors, contractors, inspectors, etc.
  • Uses a variety of supplies and tools, which may include computer and clerical supplies, electrician tools, meters, scopes, other hand and power tools, etc.
  • Operates a variety of equipment and machinery, which may include a vehicle, snorkel lift, fork lift, computer, two-way radio, etc.
  • Refers to policy and procedure manuals, maintenance manuals, technical manuals and diagrams, blueprints, computer manuals, ride manuals, catalogs, reference manuals, etc.
  • Prepares and/or processes numerous maintenance records, shift reports, purchase orders, modification forms, estimates, contract agreements, schedules, etc.
  • Receives and reviews various records and reports including maintenance requests, maintenance reports, schematics, ride modification forms, purchase orders, equipment manuals, shift reports, safety sheets, down time reports, contractor, quotes, etc.
  • Attends workshops, training, meetings, etc., to maintain skills and stay abreast of industry trends, products and resources.
  • Coordinates activities with other departments and crews as necessary.
  • Assists in overseeing the work of outside contractors as necessary.
  • Assists in other areas where control expertise is required, such as energy management lighting systems.
  • Assists in maintaining documentation of ride control systems.
  • Coordinates and performs annual preventative maintenance of ride control systems.
  • Maintains integrity of existing ride control programs and annually checks for discrepancies of each ride system.
  • Maintains working copy of existing control system software and keeps up to date with newer versions.
  • Supervises and coordinates retrofits of existing control systems.
  • Makes suggestions on improving or retrofitting existing ride control systems when variables such as obsolescence indicate the need for doing so.
  • Ensures rides are maintained according to the manufacturer, Cedar Fair and State guidelines to ensure the safety of ride operators and guests.
  • Orders parts as needed for maintaining ride control systems.
  • Inspects and evaluates rides for proper function; detects and investigates any electronic/electrical malfunctions or irregularities and responds to daily trouble calls.
  • Supervises and participates in the inspection, maintenance and performance of electronic/electrical repairs for Park rides, ensuring efficient and safe operations at all times.
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee
  • Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.

Area Manager Food & Beverage

Dorney Park has an opening in its Food Operations Division for Area Manager Food & Beverage. This position will report to the Director-Food & Beverage Operations.

JOB SUMMARY:
Oversees all operational and administrative activities for the defined area within the park; including monitoring and controlling operating costs, ensuring guest service and food quality standards are met and providing direction to the seasonal staff. Continually seek to improve standards within area. Assists the Director in evaluating operational results, formulating budgets, planning future departmental growth and in formulating and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree (4 year College or University)
  • 1 - 2 Years Related Experience in large-scale food and beverage operations management
  • At Least 21 Years of Age
  • Must obtain ServSafe certification.
  • Ability to pass alcohol safety course.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring and training all seasonal employees to maintain optimum staffing levels with regard for budget integrity.
  • Ensures communication of and compliance with all state and county health regulations and standards, as well as industry and park health and safety standards. Regularly inspects facilities and cart locations to ensure standards are met or exceeded in the areas of: safety, food quality, presentation, guest service, organization and cleanliness.
  • Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and presentation of food to ensure that food is prepared and presented within the standard.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality or service.
  • Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product integrity and quantity.
  • Oversees assigned concessionaire locations; serving as the primary point of contact for concessionaires; communicating and evaluating adherence to park standards and policies.
  • Monitor budgets and payroll records to ensure budget goals are achieved.
  • Maintain food weekly inventory records and troubleshoot deficient counts.
  • Prepares, reviews, and/or approves forms and documentation including; performance appraisals, schedules, training materials, recipe cards, attendance records, employee counseling forms, break schedules, labor sheets, staffing reports, guest comments forms and financial reports.
  • Ensures the practice of corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
  • Initiates corrective / improvement actions as needed.
  • Assists in planning and development within area.

Ride Mechanic

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom has an immediate opening for the position of Mechanic in Allentown, PA. This full-time position will report to the Assistant Foreperson of Rides Maintenance.

JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain proper ride operation, perform ride rehab and inspections. Perform various jobs as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Provide own hand tools and knowledge of how to use them.
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical experience.
  • Ability to obtain PA Ride Inspector certification Level II
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Driver's License
