Accessibility
First and foremost, Dorney Park is about fun. Fun for everyone. Here you'll find everything you need to know about navigating and enjoying the park and all of its experiences for those with disabilities. And if you can't find the answers here, simply download our Guest Assistance Guide, contact us or stop by the Ride Service Office located at the main entrance.
At Dorney Park we are proud of our reputation for accommodating guests with disabilities through our Ride Admission Policy. To provide equal access for all guests, we have developed a program which allows guests with mobility restrictions or cognitive impairment to access attractions.
Information about where guests access the ride is posted on each attraction's Safety Guide sign. All guests are required to meet all riding requirements for every attraction, including height and health restrictions in order to safely ride/participate.
The guest with a mobility restriction or cognitive impairment should visit Guest Services upon their arrival at the park to express their inability to wait in the regular line. Some questions are asked to ensure that the rider has the required physical criteria in order to safely experience attractions. Following that conversation, the Guest Services Associate will provide the details needed to participate in the program.
For a complete listing of guidelines please download our Guest Assistance Guide.
When you arrive at the park, please proceed to Guest Services located at the main entrance.
- Please have your party—including the individual requiring accommodation--accompany you to Guest Services.
- Depending on the needs of your group, a boarding pass may be issued that will allow you to get scheduled ride times on the attractions you would like to participate in.
- At Dorney Park we offer KidTrack, a wristband program, which will assist you and park personnel in reuniting your group should you become separated.
- We also offer Rider Swap. This allows one guest to ride while another guest waits with the guest who did not ride. When the ride is complete, the guests swap responsibility at the exit. Rider Swap is not available at Wildwater Kingdom waterpark.
- Additionally, if you need to rent a stroller, wheelchair, or locker you can proceed to the Rentals stand located just inside the main gates.
- Please revisit Guest Services if you need any further additional help with your day.
- We also recommend that as an added safety measure you take a photo of members of your party on your mobile device, (especially if you have a member in your party who tends to dart away or wander off). This photo can be great assistance to quickly reunite your party.
During your visit:
- Guests who wear headphones will not be able to wear them while riding many of our attractions. We have disposable ear protection you can pick up at Guest Services.
- If you’re separated during your visit please contact any park employee for assistance.
- Please remember for the safety of our guests, any guest who appears hysterical or too frightened to ride will not be allowed to ride at that time. That decision will be made by the ride attendant at each attraction.
- Ride delays may occur while riding and members of your party may be required to sit calmly until the ride is restarted or guests are escorted off the ride.
- Please be aware if an evacuation of an attraction is required, guests may need to maneuver along catwalks from the highest point of the ride and down steeply inclined steps.
- If you have any doubts whatsoever about an attraction’s appropriateness for the individual with Autism, please have someone in your party ride first to make an informed determination.
Dorney Park offers our guests several restful attractions and quiet places that your party can enjoy during the day. The park has a First Aid station next to the Good Time Theatre and a Family Care Center in Planet Snoopy. Additionally, air-conditioned restaurants provide a nice break from the sensory stimulation.
A Multi-Sensory & Calming Room is located in the Family Care Center for those guests with sensory processing concerns. This dedicated space provides tools for family members or care-givers to intensify or reduce sensory stimulation in a controlled environment. For more information regarding the Multi-Sensory Room please call (610) 395-3724 prior to your visit. When at the park, please stop by Guest Services for additional information.
Dorney Park is a wonderful destination for families and friends to visit. Our goal is to make your experience at the park both smooth and full of family fun. Please let us know if you have any further questions by contacting (610) 395-3724 or by talking to a Guest Services representative at the park.
We do not offer a discount specifically for guests with disabilities or pregnant women. Please see our Best Deals on Tickets for other publicly offered discounts.
Riders with casts and braces are restricted from riding rides where the cast or brace will not fit inside the ride unit or where it will present a hazard to the guest or others. Riders with full arm (elbow restricted) and full leg (knee restricted) casts and braces are restricted from most rides and water slides at Dorney Park. We suggest you delay your visit until the cast is removed. Braces with exposed metal parts are not permitted on the slides in Wildwater Kingdom. Additional information can be found in the Guest Assistance Guide.
Note: Talon and Hydra prohibit casts of any kind.
The safety and well being of our guests is of the greatest importance at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom.
We have two First Aid stations.
- Dorney Park First Aid is located next to Good Time Gifts near the Park entrance and is open until one hour after Park closing.
- A second First Aid station, located behind Aqua Racer, is open from waterpark opening until shortly after close.
- Emergency Medical Technicians are available if first aid is needed.
If necessary, the Park is only a short drive to local hospitals.
Refrigeration for medication with the exception of bee sting anaphylaxis kits, is available at Dorney Park First Aid. Personal emergency medications, such as an EpiPen, should not be left in the care of First Aid, as they need to be administered without delay.
Although food and beverages are not allowed in the park, individuals who have special need/diet items due to a medical condition may bring small coolers in to accommodate such needs. These guests must have their coolers tagged at Guest services upon arrival to the Main Plaza. Coolers for this purpose must be soft sided and no larger than 10 x 10 x 12. Aside from this exception, coolers and outside food or beverage are not permitted.
Assistive listening systems utilize a lightweight wireless device that aids in the amplification of sound at our stage shows. These are recommended for guests with mild-to-moderate hearing loss. To use the system, guests should obtain a receiver at the Guest Services Office. For show venues where this system is not available, please inquire to venue staff for assistance in prioritizing your seating location.
If requested at least 1 week in advance, Dorney Park will provide American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation for live shows featured at our live entertainment venues.
To request ASL Interpretation services, please complete the request form. Upon arrival at the park, please check in with Guest Services to review our show schedule and determine your preferred showtimes and selections.
Guests requiring a handicap parking space should turn on their hazard lights and ask a traffic director for the exact location. State issued permits are required to use these spaces. Don't forget to turn off your lights! In addition, there is an area to the right of the main entrance designated as a drop-off or pick-up area for our guests with mobility issues.
Guests with any type of prosthesis should not ride unless they can ensure the device is properly secured and will remain in place during the ride. All riders must be able to maintain proper riding positioning. Riders should visit Guest Services prior to riding to ensure a safe riding experience.
Note: Prosthetics of any kind are NOT allowed on the following rides: Hydra, Talon and Meteor
Guests with prosthetics enjoying their day at Wildwater Kingdom should consult with a member of our Aquatics Supervisory team. Prosthetic devices with exposed metal parts are not permitted on most Wildwater Kingdom attractions. Additional information can be found in the Guest Assistance Guide.
The following restroom facilities have stalls that meet ADA guidelines for our guests with disabilities: Main Plaza, Planet Snoopy, Main Midway, Coasters Restaurant, Hydra, The Whip, Road Rally, Steel Force, both of Wildwater Kingdom's changing area restrooms, the Wildwater Kingdom entrance and across from Seaside Splashworks. Private restrooms facilities for guests needing the assistance of another guest are available at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom's First Aid locations. Family restrooms are located at the Family Care Center in Planet Snoopy™, across from the Good Time Theatre on the corner of the Good Time Gifts building, the Wildwater Kingdom entrance and across from Seaside Splashworks.
Many rides at Dorney Park are dynamic and thrilling. There are inherent risks in riding any amusement ride. For your protection, each ride is rated for its special features, such as high speed, steep drops, sharp turns or other dynamic forces. If you choose to ride, you accept all of these risks. Participate responsibly. You should be in good health to ride safely. You know your physical conditions and limitations, Dorney Park does not. If you suspect your health could be at risk for any reason, or you could aggravate a pre-existing condition of any kind, DO NOT RIDE! Restrictions for guests of extreme size (height or weight) are posted at certain rides. Guests with disabilities should refer to our Ride Admission Policy available at the Ride Service Office.
Guests with a history of recent surgery, heart trouble/high blood pressure, neck trouble, back trouble, or any other condition that may be aggravated by riding, or who are pregnant, should carefully heed all warning signs at a ride entrance. If you are in doubt about your ability to safely experience a ride or would like more rider information, please request our Guest Assistance Guide at Ride Services Office in the Main entrance Plaza. We’ll be happy to brief you on our Ride Admission Policy and explain how it applies to your specific situation. We hope we can help you enjoy your day more fully.
Pennsylvania Act No. 1994-58 requires that riders must obey all warnings and directions regarding rides and must behave in a manner that will not cause or contribute to injury to themselves or others. Failure to comply is cause for dismissal from the Park with NO REFUND GIVEN.
Service animals are welcome at Dorney Park. A service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to perform tasks for a person with disabilities. Service animals must be controlled with a restraining device and must display appropriate behavior at all times while on our property. There is a limit of one service animal per guest. A relief area is located on the right as you travel the path to the Thunder Creek Mountain Restrooms.
Due to the nature of most rides, service animals must remain with a non-riding member of your party. We are not permitted to take control of your service animal. Guests may take advantage of our Rider Swap policy for staying with the service animal. Service animals may be taken on the Antique Carousel, Camp Bus, Cedar Creek Cannonball, Ferris Wheel, Flying Aced Balloon Race, Peanuts Road Rally, Snoopy’s Junction, Woodstock’s Wagon Wheel, and the Zephyr. Service animals must be leashed, under the owner's control, fit on the floor of the ride vehicle, and seated on the floor, not the ride seat. They may also attend the performances at Planet Snoopy Showplace, Center Stage, and the Good Time Theater. Service animals are not permitted in water attractions, wet decks, wading pools, or lazy rivers. They are permitted to walk through the park areas, including scare zones. However, for safety reasons, service animals are not permitted in any Haunt exterior or interior maze. Visit Guest Services for more information.
Single strollers, double-seat strollers, wagons, wheelchairs, and electric convenience vehicles (ECVs) may be used during your visit to Dorney Park, and you are welcome to bring your own. They are available for rent at the Stroller/Wheelchair Rental Center at Good Time Gifts near the Main Entrance, on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of vehicles may also be rented in advance on our website.
Wheelchairs can be accommodated in all restaurants, gift shops, games, arcades, and restrooms. ECVs with canopies or other attachments are not permitted on lifts to attractions. A wheelchair will be provided at those locations.
For those guests who choose to use an ECV, we require that a safe speed be maintained while traveling in the park.
Park wheelchairs, ECVs, and strollers may not be taken out of the park gates or to the parking lot. However, a park associate will be happy to provide any assistance you may need at that time.
For any guest using a personal Segway, please stop by Guest Services.
A pool lift is available at Runaway River and Wildwater River. A water wheelchair is available for guests participating in waterpark attractions. The water wheelchair may be used by multiple guests on the same day. While in the water, the water level may not exceed the height of the seat on the chair. During your visit, please speak to a member of our Aquatics Supervisory team to obtain access to the water wheelchair and for further accessibility information.
