- The premiere showing of “Snoopy Rocks On Ice” was held June 30, marking the first full production performance in Dorney Park’s brand new Good Time Theatre, which is now open six days a week. The theater, which was first announced in February of 2009, broke ground on April 1, and was fully constructed in just 12 weeks.

- On this Sunday, May 17, a select group of Major League Eaters will gather at Dorney Park’s Center Stage venue to do battle in an officially sanctioned Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. At stake is the title of Pennsylvania Hot Dog Eating Champion and a chance to compete in the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest in New York on July 4, 2009.

- When Carrie Basta, Admissions Manager at Dorney Park opens the gates and scans the first ticket on May 2, the 125th Summer will officially be underway at one of the countries most historic amusement parks. With a history encompassing the entire twentieth century and more Dorney Park will open for this 2009 season as the sixteenth oldest operating amusement park in the World and fourth oldest in the United States according to the National Amusement Park Historical Association’s list that is keeping the official count. In light of this great milestone the Park is planning a season of Special Events in addition to all the rides, slides, thrills and spills that make it a family favorite.
