The Fish Pond is a decorative fountain made of river rock that is surrounded by a water basin. Guests gather around this peaceful diversion to gaze into the water and feed the resident trout. Originally assembled in the 1920's, the Fish Pond was a favorite mingling spot for those attending events at the old Castle Garden dance hall. During evening hours, there were multicolored lights projected on the fountain to charm dancers who were taking a break. Castle Garden burned beyond repair in 1985 and was removed, but the Fish Pond still provides restful moments to visitors today.
Banana trees, cannas and other tropical flowers and plants enhance one of the largest collections of water attractions in the country in Wildwater Kingdom water park. Tropical hibiscus bushes and trees bloom in vibrant colors, and mandevilla vines entangle wrought iron pillars with a multitude of clear pink blossoms. Sundecks blanketed with lounge chairs throughout the water park invite guests to take time out and soak up the sun.
Most thrill rides offer viewing areas near the attraction to observe family and friends so that non-riders may participate from a distance. A park bench along a shady walkway is always a great way to enjoy the favorite pastime of people watching. |
