Internship positions typically offer flexible beginning and ending dates but are six days per week over the majority of the primary operating season. The specific schedule of the internship may vary depending on job requirements.
Available for 2009 Operating Season:
Accounting
- Accounts Payable Section, Accounting Clerk
- Various duties within a computerized system related to payment of vendor invoices, account analysis and general office assignments. Process mail by opening and separating incoming statements and invoices. Invoice processing by matching invoices with purchase orders and receiving reports. Set up payable input voucher form. Data entry of the accounts payable input voucher form into the computer system. Attaching invoices from the open accounts payable file to the printed check copy. Filing of check copies, paid invoices and statements. Mailing of signed checks. Answering the phone and researching and solving the vendors' questions. Update and maintain the vendor master file. Adheres to the employee rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook. Reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.
- Qualifications: College major in Accounting or prior work experience required. Minimum Age: 18.
- Accounts Receivable Section, Accounting Clerk
- Prepare accounting records for billing and other account analysis. Analyze accounts receivable miscellaneous accounts. Handle returned items by sending a letter to the maker or the check to Telecheck. Input sales orders for outings and generate invoices. Research questionable accounts (presale outings and consignment). Counting and filing of returned tickets on consignment accounts. Reports to Cash Control Manager.
- Qualifications: College major in Accounting field or prior work experience required. Minimum Age: 18
- Ticket Control Clerk
- Prepare and ship tickets for Outing, Presale and Consignment customers. Must verify accuracy of printed tickets and invoices to associated written contracts or reorder forms. Counting and filing of returned tickets on consignment accounts. Adheres to the employee rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook. Reports to Cash Control Manager.
- Qualifications: College major in Accounting and/or business related field or prior work experience required. Minimum Age: 18.
- Revenue Accounting
- Revenue Accounting Auditors are responsible for compiling attendance, sales, and revenue figures to create an accurate and timely report for distribution to Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom and Cedar Fair management. Emphasis is on review and audit of cashier sales information beginning with register information through actual cash count from Cash Control. Good computer skills a plus. Forty hours or more work week; requires willingness to work different shifts throughout the summer including nights and weekends. Supervised by Manager of Revenue Accounting.
- Qualifications: College major in Accounting or business-related field. Minimum Age: 18.
- Payroll
- Accounting clerks perform duties necessary to process payroll on a computerized system. Data entry of daily time clock correction sheets, payroll deductions and other miscellaneous data entry. Prepare paychecks for distribution to various departments on a biweekly basis. File employee information to various local governmental agencies. Support other areas of our department as needed. (i.e. Cash Control Teller-issue money bags to Retail staff. Help Accounts Payable and Revenue Accounting as needed.

Admissions
- Guest Services Host / Hostess
- Guest Service Representatives greet guests, provide park information as requested, and assist guests in having the best experience possible at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom. Representatives also handle comments or complaints from guests, ensuring that the guest receives service matching the standards and expectations set by Dorney Park. Services are to be provided in a courteous manner and must be based upon a thorough knowledge of the park and its operation. Marketing and PR majors should enjoy this position. Often qualifies for internships.
- Qualifications: Candidate must possess good written and oral communication skills to act as a Park advocate and liaison. Must possess friendly and outgoing personality and be able to handle pressure and work in a fast paced environment. Candidate should also be highly organized and have basic computer operation skills and knowledge.

Games
- Games Internship
- Responsible for enforcing company guidelines, including uniform and grooming, and attendance. Team Leaders must maintain a smooth flow of communication with department management, supervisors and game operators. Main responsibilities include ensuring that all game stands in their area are opened and closed at their scheduled times, supervising operators in performing their daily tasks and setting priorities, maintaining proper inventory levels of merchandise, and ensuring that we are complying with all minor labor laws. Team Leaders are in charge of placing orders from our warehouse and checking those orders, and placed in the stands or stockrooms as necessary. You will also be required to monitor employees for proper cash handling, microphone usage where applicable, and displaying good guest service. Team Leaders assist the Area Supervisors in 30 day evaluations of their operators, as well as training and positively motivating all of their employees. You will also be responsible for theft prevention. Training all of your operators on what to look out for based upon your experience, practicing these preventions on a daily basis, and innovating new ideas to prevent theft are all integral to the operation of our department. Team Leaders may be responsible for completing weekly inventories. In addition, there may be other duties assigned to you by your supervisor or management.
- Qualifications: Major in a related field or prior work in a retail/amusement environment required. Applicant must have experience in customer services and be comfortable leading a team of employees. Applicants must be able to pass substance abuse testing. - Lockers Internship

Team Leaders are in charge of placing orders from our warehouse and receiving those orders. You will also be required to monitor employees for proper cash handling, closeout operators registers at the end of their shifts, and verify all questionable over-rings and questionable sales. Team Leaders assist the Area Supervisors in 30 day evaluations of their operators, as well as training and positively motivating all of their employees. You will also be responsible for theft prevention. Training all of your operators on what to look out for based upon your experience, practicing these preventions on a daily basis, and innovating new ideas to prevent theft are all integral to the operation of our department. - Cash Control Intern
- Function is to enforce cash handling policies and procedures. Reports directly to the Food Operations Managers. Responsible for monitoring cash control policies and procedures. Records and keeps accurate over/short logs on all Food Operations personnel handling money. Assist in curtailing employee theft of money, services, and inventory; reporting all suspected violations to full-time management. Coordinates with Internal Audit on all cash control concerns and cash register audits. Cash control supervisors are responsible for training and retraining employees on proper cash handling procedures. In addition, there may be other duties assigned to you by management.
- Qualifications: Major in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or other Related Field. Prior work in a food service environment preferred, but not required. Understanding of inventory control processes and procedures. Customer Service training a plus. Should have strong analytical, math and organizational skills. Must be patient, poised, and able to cope with special situations and both positive and negative guest comments. Should be courteous, alert, and have a positive attitude and work ethic. Able to meet Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom’s attendance, grooming, and uniform requirements as outlined in the Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom’s policies. - Foods Stand Supervisor
- Responsible for enforcing company guidelines, including uniform and grooming, and attendance. Supervisors must maintain a smooth flow of communication with department management, supervisors and host/hostess. Main responsibilities include ensuring that your food location are opened and closed at their scheduled times, supervising food host/hostess in performing their daily tasks and setting priorities, maintaining proper inventory levels of food, and ensuring that we are complying with all minor labor laws. Supervisors are in charge of placing orders from our warehouse, receiving those orders, and ensuring all items are properly received and rotated on the shelves or in storage areas as necessary. You will also be required to monitor employees for proper cash handling, help host/hostess with their registers at the end of their shifts, and verify all questionable over-rings and error correct sales. Supervisors assist the Area Supervisors in 30 day evaluations of their staff, as well as training and positively motivating all of their employees. You will also be responsible in maintaining your budget hours, food cost and revenue for the week. Training all of your staff on what to look out for based upon your experience, practicing these preventions on a daily basis, and innovating new ideas to prevent theft are all integral to the operation of our department. Ensuring that all health and safety regulations are being met and maintaining a safe workplace. In some areas, Supervisors may be responsible for completing weekly inventories, quantity sales and scheduling in some locations. In addition, there may be other duties assigned to you by your area supervisor or management.

Human Resources
- Human Resources Intern
- The Human Resources Office is in charge of all hiring, training and employee processing functions within Dorney Park. The Human Resources Intern will have a wide variety of duties that will vary throughout the year. The intern will have interaction with all levels of seasonal employees, including working closely with International employees. The intern will be responsible for assisting in the development and/or implementation of company and customer service training programs for seasonal employees, facilitating training classes for all levels of seasonal employees, retraining those individuals who fail to meet our standards, keeping accurate records of all training attendees, assist in arranging the employee activities program, and assisting with all facets of the International Employee Program. Duties may also include data entry as we implement a new payroll and hiring system, general office work including filing, answering phones in a business-like manner and issuing uniforms, as well as assisting employees with questions regarding employment. Must be able to work flexible hours. This is a new position, so additional duties may be added. Position duties could begin as early as January on a part-time basis.
- Qualifications: Possess a high level of organizational, communication (verbal/written), and time management skills. Accuracy a must. Must have supervisory skills and the ability to speak in front of audiences. Previous training experience and/or park experience helpful. Must exhibit tact, style, and grooming consistent with company image. Patient, poised, able to cope with special situations and work well under pressure. Marketing
- Sales Support Representative
- Play an active role in the processing and fulfillment of our Prepaid Group ticket sales program, beginning with the initial ordering of tickets, continuing with processing payments, entering orders, scheduling tickets for printing. Assist with the calculation of refunds, as necessary. Act as an in-house event planner and assist in the scheduling of events in the Park. General office duties include answering calls directed to the Sales Department and taking information requests, answering questions, and taking ticket orders. May also include frequent monitoring of our picnic areas to provide access control and offer directional information. Perform other administrative duties as necessary. Conduct random surveys of park guests for use in marketing research and statistical analysis. As the season progresses, you may begin to compile the results of the surveys and perform the statistical analysis. Take initial marketing calls and fulfill guests’ requests, or direct them to the appropriate person whom will be able to take care of their request. Become familiar with all of our marketing materials as well as a general knowledge of the Park. You will be introduced to marketing a regional amusement facility and have the opportunity to be exposed to commercial and photo shoots, eventually seeing the finished products on television, billboards, brochures, and our website.
- Qualifications:Mature, responsible individual with a positive attitude. College student majoring in Business, Marketing or related field preferred. Excellent administrative, computer, oral and written skills are necessary. Must have the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines. Must be willing to work additional hours when necessary. Flexible schedule, including weekends are a must. Must be able to communicate effectively and project a positive park image to guests. Requires ability to listen well and communicate clearly in a calm and courteous manner. Needs to work quickly, neatly and accurately and to assume responsibility without constant supervision. Physical demands include the ability to stand for long periods of time, and the ability to work for extended periods of time in extreme weather (rain, heat, cold, etc.).

You will also be required to monitor employees for proper cash handling, closeout associates registers at the end of their shifts, and verify all questionable over-rings and questionable sales. Team Leaders assist the Area Supervisors in 30 day evaluations of their associates, as well as training and positively motivating all of their employees. You will also be responsible for shoplifting prevention. Training all of your associates on what to look out for based upon your experience, practicing these preventions on a daily basis, and innovating new ideas to prevent theft are all integral to the operation of our department. - Web-store/Inventory Supervisor
- Inventory aspects of the internship include overseeing all transfers of merchandise between gift shops and ensuring that transfer sheets are completed by the supervisors and turned in for you to process in the computer system. You are responsible for monitoring the point-of-sale system reports to ensure accuracy of sales and to note when items are at their reorder levels. The Inventory/Marketplace Supervisor is responsible for physical inventories of items as requested by Retail Management and is also required to compile and input weekly inventories into our accounting system. You are responsible for reviewing and inputting weekly orders from each gift shop. This also includes auditing the delivery for accuracy and to correct any discrepancies. Weekly audits for pricing and ticketing are also a main part of your responsibilities. Marketplace responsibilities include retrieving, packaging, and processing marketplace orders as they arrive. Monitoring inventory levels is an important aspect of ensuring the marketplace is up to date. You must be able to maintain a database of all products and make sure that out of stock items are removed from the marketplace. The Inventory/Marketplace Supervisor is responsible for photographing new items as they arrive and updating old items as necessary. They must edit and save the photographs for use on the marketplace. Each product needs to be uploaded and have descriptions added prior to being activated for sale on the marketplace. In addition, there may be other duties assigned to you by your supervisor or management.

- Make-Up Artist
- Needed from Mid-September through October weekends to airbrush prosthetic masks into a character. Utilize a combination of make-up and airbrush techniques to develop a character. Walk through scare zones and assist in maintaining the masks.
- Relevant Fields of Study include: Theater or any art related major.
- Scream Team Monsters
- Needed from Mid-September through October weekends to develop and play the role of a specific character on stage constantly with the guests, use a high startle to scare guests, work in pairs to develop a team based scaring including a distraction and a scare. This is aerobic in nature utilizing a scare area, and a high fog area. Prosthetic masks and pieces used to change the appearance of your face.

- Trained as an International Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard. Supervises and ensures that proper training of team employees is followed, based on park and departmental policies and procedures. Works to improve staff morale and maintains an organized team. Assists staff in resolving conflicts with management according to company policy. Evaluates the staff both orally and in writing regarding performance. Makes recommendations on improvements to the departmental training programs. Enforces employee work schedules. Assures guest satisfaction and safety. Responsible for overseeing that proper cleanliness, grooming, and attendance standards are being maintained according to park and departmental policies and procedures. Conducts the weekly in-service training program as required for the Ellis and Associates License.
