Program Guidelines
The amount of the donation to your organization from Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom is based on the number of people in your group, that volunteer their time at the Park. Shifts available for fundraising are eight hours long. Starting and ending times vary - see the Booster Bucks Calendar for details.

Type of Positions Available
There are a number of different positions available to volunteers. These positions are assigned based on the Park's staffing needs on the day your shift. All positions at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom require individuals to possess skills in guest service. Positions include:
Rides
Volunteers may work at one of the Park's amusement rides. Duties include assisting guests who are entering and exiting the ride, physically checking safety restraints on guests, and continually observing the ride area. These positions require the ability to stand for long periods of time while working outdoors in all types of weather. PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers working in rides will be required to submit to a drug and/or alcohol test that will be administered at the Park. Please read the section below for more detailed information and to access the necessary forms that need to be completed by each member of your group who will be working in this area. Waterpark
Volunteers may work at a Wildwater Kingdom attraction. Duties include enforcing rider safety requirements (such as height), assisting guests who are entering and exiting the water attractions and continually observing the pool decks. These positions require the ability to stand for long periods of time while working outdoors in all types of weather. PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers working at waterpark attractions will be required to submit to a drug and/or alcohol test that will be administered at the Park. Please read the section below for more detailed information and to access the necessary forms that need to be completed by each member of your group who will be working in this area. Food Operations
Volunteers may work at a food operations location at the Park. Duties include preparing foods, cooking, cleaning, order taking and cash handling. These positions require the ability to stand for long periods of time. Age Requirement: 16
Catering
Volunteers may work at one of the Park's catering locations. Duties include serving food and cleaning the picnic and kitchen areas. These positions require the ability to stand for long periods of time. Age Requirement: 16
Admissions
Volunteers may work at the Park Entrance. Duties include greeting Park guests, taking appropriate admission tickets from guests as they enter, providing handstamps to guests for readmission to the Park, and scanning and logging tickets and season passes. These positions require the ability to stand for long periods of time. Age Requirement: 16
Games Department
Volunteers may work in one of the Park's games locations. Duties include money handling, clearly explaining game rules to participating guests, light cleaning and cash handling. These positions require the ability to stand for long periods of time. Outgoing individuals preferred. Age Requirement: 16
Merchandise Department
Volunteers may work in a retail store selling assorted merchandise. Duties include money handling, operating a cash register, light cleaning and stocking of merchandise displays. These positions require the ability to stand for long periods of time. Age Requirement: 16
Age Requirements
All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age or older (18 for ride positions). Volunteers under 18 years of age must provide proof of age before working their assigned shift. All volunteers must sign a Booster Bucks Rules and Regulations Agreement upon arrival to participate. We are unable to make exceptions.
Drug and Alcohol Testing
Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom prohibits all employees and/or volunteers ("Workers") from engaging in the illegal use of drugs while on DP/WWK's premises and/or while conducting DP/WWK business. The term "illegal use of drugs" includes the use, concealment, possession, manufacture, sale, purchase, transportation or distribution of illegal drugs; the use, concealment, possession, sale, purchase, transportation or distribution of legal drugs without a proper prescription when the drug is available only by prescription; the misuse of legal or properly prescribed drugs; and the misuse of inhalants. DP/WWK also prohibits all Workers from being under the influence of illegally used drugs while on DP/WWK's premises or while conducting DP/WWK's business.
The possession, distribution, unauthorized use, sale, concealment, purchase, transportation or consumption of alcoholic beverages while on DP/WWK's premises or while conducting DP/WWK business is prohibited. No Worker shall consume alcohol during breaks or meal periods. DP/WWK further prohibits all Workers from being under the influence of alcohol while on DP/WWK's premises and/or while conducting DP/WWK business.
This year, in addition to testing employees, any volunteer scheduled to work in rides or at the waterpark attractions will be required to submit to a drug test may be required to submit to alcohol testing. The drug test shall include testing for adulterants. All information regarding drug and alcohol testing shall be kept confidential.
Any volunteer who is scheduled to work in rides or in the waterpark, and who refuses to be tested or to cooperate with testing procedures shall be prohibited from performing any further services for DP/WWK. Volunteers will be required to sign a Volunteer Consent Form For Drug and Alchohol and a HIPPA Authorization Form, both of which should be downloaded from this site and brought with you on your date of service. Volunteers are also required to produce Photo Identification at the time of testing. Please keep in mind that anyone under the age of 18 must have Parental/Guardian written consent in order to be tested.
Testing will take place at the time listed as your group's work start time and will be completed before members of the group are permitted to go into the Park. Please make certain that everyone has their completed documents as listed above and a photo ID. If the initial drug screening is "inconclusive", it will be sent to an approved, licensed laboratory to confirm inconclusive screening results. Volunteers whose screening results for drugs are inconclusive, will cease performing services for DP/WWK pending the receipt of confirmatory results from the laboratory. DP/WWK and the volunteer may make arrangements for transporting the volunteer home when the initial screen for drugs is inconclusive.

Harassment Policy
Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom ("Cedar Fair") strives to provide a work environment where all employees can work to together comfortably and productively, free from harassment. Cedar Fair prohibits the harassment of any of its employees/volunteers and guests, regardless of whether that harassment is targeted specifically to the person, based on an individual's race, religion, color, creed, gender, age, national origin, ancestry, martial status, veteran status, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability or other protected characteristics.

Grooming Guidelines
A conservative image must be maintained at all times. Hair and nails are to be clean and neat. Cigarette smoking, gum and tobacco chewing are prohibited except in designated break areas, outside of the Park. Personal pagers or cellular phones are NOT permitted to be taken into the Park. Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom reserves the right to prohibit members of your group from working if they do not conform to our grooming guidelines and dress code. Please make certain that all members of your group are fully aware of the grooming guidelines and dress code.
Females
Hair: Hair must be natural, clean, well groomed and simply arranged. Faddish, extreme hairstyles, including (but not limited to) multi-colored or unnatural colors, sculpted hair, tails, partially shaved heads and dreadlocks are not permitted. Those who prefer long hair should take special care so that it will not create a safety hazard by falling forward or over the face while performing normal job duties. Shaved patterns in the sides, back or front of the hair are not permitted.
Make-Up: Employees should emphasize the natural look. Nails should be no greater that ¼" inch in length, and if polished, only with one solid color and no additional adornment. Either clear or natural colored nail polishes as well as any polishes that are complimentary to an employee's skin color are permitted. In addition, conservative shades of red and pink are also acceptable. Employees should also be discreet in the use of cosmetics and perfume.
Tattoos: Tattoos are not permitted to be visible to our guests. Cosmetic make-up, rather than bandages, should be used to conceal visible tattoos.
Jewelry: Conservative personal jewelry (such as a watch, one ring per hand and no more than two earrings in each lower earlobe) is permitted. Thumb rings are not permitted. Heavy jewelry, as well as any body piercing (with the exception of two earrings per lower earlobe) is not permitted. This also refers to tongue piercing, as well as any other type of facial piercing. In addition, adhesive bandages may not be used to cover up piercings. |
Males
Hair: Hair must be natural, neatly trimmed and clean at all times. Styling should be tapered at the sides and back so the lower one-half of the ear is visible and the back is no longer than the top of a normal dress shirt. Hair should not fall forward or over the face while performing normal job duties. Extreme hairstyles, including (but not limited to) multi-colored or unnatural hair colors, sculpted hair, tails, braids, ponytails, dreadlocks, partially shaved heads and spikes are not permitted. Shaved patterns in the sides, back or front of the hair are not allowed. Employees should be cleanly shaved. Beards and goatees are not permitted, however, a neatly groomed mustache that does not extend below or beyond the corners of the mouth or below the upper lip is permitted. Sideburns may not extend past the bottom of the ear. They must be neatly trimmed and may not flare out at the bottom. Employees are not permitted to wear fingernail polish or makeup, except when used to conceal tattoos.

Dress Code
We request that you wear a plain white collared polo-type shirt with sleeves and well-fitted (not oversized) that can be tucked into your slacks or shorts. Midriff-baring shirts and shirts with words or large logos/pictures are not permitted. A pair of solid colored shorts or slacks (tan, navy or black only) should be worn. Females may also wear a solid colored skirt or skorts. Jeans, sweat pants, leggings, excessively tight pants or cut off shorts or extremely short shorts are not permitted. If your shorts or slacks have belt loops, a belt should be worn. Volunteers must also wear a pair of solid colored sneakers or walking shoes. Sandals, clogs, open toe, or open back shoes are not permitted.
Please be aware of the weather conditions forecasted for the day. You may wish to bring a plain colored (no logos, wording or pictures) sweater, sweatshirt, jacket, raincoat or umbrella with you. We recommend sunscreeen.
If a member of your group wishes to work, but arrives not conforming to our dress code, they will have the option of not participating or the group may purchase from Dorney Park a limited number of appropriate shirts and pants that we will have available at our Wardrobe Department. The cost of each shirt and each pair of pants is $5.00 per item and the total cost will be deducted from the group's final payment.
Please keep in mind that Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom reserves the right to prohibit members of your group from working if they do not conform to our grooming guidelines and/or dress code. Please make sure that members of your group are fully aware of the grooming guidelines and dress code.
Sign-Up
Please check the Booster Bucks Calendar for dates that have volunteer shifts available, then click on the Booster Bucks Reservation Request Form and provide the information to request a reservation for your group to volunteer at the Park. Groups are granted volunteer shifts on a first-come, first served basis. If your request is approved, you will receive an email that includes a Booster Bucks Confirmation Form with your group name and the date and shifts assigned. Please sign this form and return it along with a completed W-9 form (Federal Tax ID Number is required by law).
Receipt of a Booster Bucks Confirmation Form does not guarantee requested shifts. All dates are tentative until a signed Booster Bucks Confirmation Form and signed W-9 Form with your Federal Tax ID Number is received. Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom will hold approved shifts for one week without these signed documents. After one week from the approval date, shifts reserved for groups who have not submitted these required forms will be made available to other interested groups.
Unapproved groups will also receive an email stating that the requested shifts are not available.
Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom reserves the right to cancel up to 24 hours prior to the work date.

There are a limited number of shifts available, so it is important that interested groups submit their reservation request as soon as possible. Please review the Booster Bucks Calendar for available dates. Please note that all dates listed may not be available; please select an alternative date too. Once we review your information (including Tax ID number), we will email a confirmation letter to you. |
